Day 5: Be a Hero.
Tuesday, January 5, 2010Last year, we are tested with different challenges that happened in our country. Amidst these difficulties we are resilient in these kinds of events. We always tend to be a hero for other because of “bayanihan” trait. This was the inspiration of Mark Gosingtian to create this popular phrase:
Truly, we are all heroes in our own way at a given time. For this 2010 I have 3 ways how to be hero for my country – Philippines:
VOTE. Since 2010 marks another election year here in the Philippines, we Filipinos should not only exercise our rights to vote but also be responsible in selecting our future leaders. In addition to that, we should all be mindful of everything that is happening in our surroundings. We should all make an effort to have clean and fair elections.
VOLUNTEER. Be a blessing to others by helping people in need without expecting anything in return. It can be a simple community work at your parish church to participation in building houses at Gawad Kalinga. With this, you can also be a reminder to others that they can also be a hero in their own little way.
BE PROUD. Let us not waste the efforts and hard work of our fellow Filipinos like Manny Pacquiao, Efren Peñaflorida, Arnel Pineda and Cristeta Comerford to raise our morale as Filipinos. Let’s us support and let the world see what we can do since we are really talented and creative in a very special way.
